HMH is All Set to Roll Out A Series of Exciting Projects this ATM
HMH – Hospitality Management Holdings will unveil several exciting projects during the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), the Middle East’s premium travel and tourism show.
Michel Noblet, CEO, HMH, said, “We have a number of strategic announcements lined up this ATM which is one of the most important trade exhibitions for our industry. 2010 is a landmark year for our group with a hotel opening practically every 3 weeks across our four brands and ATM is the perfect platform to showcase these. We have 17 new openings lined up this year, taking our existing portfolio of 33 to 50 - thus increasing the group’s total number of rooms by more than 40 %. We have just opened a magnificent 5-star property in South Africa called Coral International Cape Town which makes us the first Gulf brand to open a hotel in the country. This was in quick succession to the opening of Coral Khartoum and Coral Port Sudan – our first two properties in Sudan.”
Despite the economic downturn, HMH shows no signs of slowing down and this is primarily the message the group wishes to convey to the local and international travel trade. Michel said, “As others are trying to reign in, we continue to march ahead and are committed to our business objectives. Expansion is the key to success in any business and particularly ours. It takes a few years to develop a new property so you cannot afford to slow down the pace of expansion. Rather you have to accelerate to boost your portfolio and stimulate your business. You have got to look at the bigger picture for a sustainable future. If one is to compete in the current economic scenario, one has to move faster and smarter, managing more efficiently and delivering our commitments to our owners, investors and partners.”
Being the home turf GCC remains the main focus of HMH’s development and expansion strategy.Michel stressed, “GCC as a whole is very important for us.Tourism is the main driver for the GCC economy
and particularly the UAE. Growth here, as everywhere else, has definitely slowed down owing to the crisis. Yet, the region remains strong and is expected to pick up before the end of 2010. Being a home grown chain with extensive understanding and experience of the region, we have positioned ourselves very strongly in the Arabian Peninsula. We have several amazing hotels under development across the region including the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria as well as north, south and east Africa and are committed to our target of 100 hotels by 2012.
To be successful you have to be irresistible and that seems to be the case with HMH. Michel said, “We are a comprehensive company for a developer. Our partnership with Skywards, Husa Hotels, Vision Hospitality Management and Hospitality Marketing Concepts enables us to take advantage of a vast and established network globally. Truly international management team, spirited service, a powerful central reservation engine and highly advanced QMS and CRM systems help us to reach our target clientele worldwide.”
Michel attributes the massive growth of HMH to a diversified product offering too. “With four distinctive brands, we can sustain / please any segment of clientele from luxury to budget hotels. Each one of our brands is tailor-made to suit the requirements of its target clientele be it Coral Hotels & Resorts that’s a 5-star brand or Corp Executive Hotels that designed for Business Travellers, or EWA Hotel Apartments that’s ideal for families and long-staying executives or ECOS Hotels which is Middle East’s first environment-friendly budget brand. All our hotels are alcohol-free and offer the finest Arabic hospitality combined with world-class comforts in a safe environment.”
