CEO's Word

Hospitality is all about providing guests services and products tailored to their needs. Since the creation of Coral International Hotels, Resorts & Spas in September 2003, we have enjoyed an amazing success. Within 4 years we have launched 4 brands and signed 40 management contracts.

We offer our clients a full spectrum of choice in terms of hospitality - from top-end luxury hotels to select service hotels, budget hotels and serviced apartments. Each of our brands - Coral Hotels & Resorts, Corp Executive Hotels, ECOS Hotels and EWA Hotel Apartments - is designed to provide its clientele a unique experience.

This phenomenal growth necessitated the creation of a new umbrella for the group. Given our global character and ambitions, we decided to call the group HMH (Hospitality Management Holdings) and gave it an equally powerful international and futuristic identity.

Looking ahead, this year and the next will see the addition of several new components to the HMH portfolio. Our development strategy is driven by a combination of objectives including expansion and consolidation in key markets. While the Middle East is central to our growth, we are gearing up to explore fresh grounds in Asia and Africa. We have a particularly strong interest in India, Pakistan, Iran, Malaysia and Indonesia.

At the moment, everyone seems to be eyeing the budget and serviced apartments segment and rightly so. The pyramid is very much upside down in the region with too many luxury hotels. However, the trend is reversing with more and more brands moving towards mid-scale products.

We recently launched two superb brands. Both have been received very enthusiastically by the market.
1.ECOS Hotels, a unique budget brand that is ecologically friendly too.
2.EWA Hotel Apartments, serviced apartments designed for families and long-staying guests.

We recognize the need to develop a cross region business strategy especially in view of the new wave of globalization sweeping through the industry. As a result we forged a strategic commercial alliance with 'HUSA Hoteles' a leading name in the hotel industry in the Spanish market. Founded in 1930, HUSA Hoteles is one of the biggest and fastest expanding hotel chains in Spain and has over 160 hotels in Europe. A commercial tie-up with the company certainly holds strong advantages for Coral International.

We also entered into a strategic alliance with Skywards- the hugely successful and prestigious frequent flyer programme from Emirates and Sri Lankan Airlines. This will boost our brand's presence tremendously in key markets and will help us to reach almost 3 million Skywards members around the world. It's noteworthy that only 9 hotel management companies are part of this exclusive programme worldwide.

Ultimately, it is not so much the products you sell that guarantee success but the service you provide customers. Respect for local culture and traditions, innovation, attention to detail and care and proximity to the local community, remain the core values of our corporate philosophy. We are committed to preserving the environment and take an active part in local and global conservation programmes.
